On April 22-26, 2017 representatives of IAR&FR – Prof. Mariusz Piskuła, Prof. Barbara Wróblewska, Prof. Dariusz Skarzyński and Dr. Mamadou Bah – paid a visit in Algeria as a follow-up of the cooperation launched by the two countries in 2015.

Prof. Barbara Wróblewska is a Polish representative of the European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC), where she deals with the issue of food safety. A recent conference in Halle organised by the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina was accompanied by an international meeting of four working groups comprised by experts from Europe (EASAC), Africa (Network of African Science Academies, NASAC), Asia (Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia, AASSA) and America (InterAmerican Network of Academies of Sciences, IANAS), united in the Partnership of InterAcademy (IAP) network. W dniu 2 kwietnia 2017 r. Zjazd Sprawozdawczo-Wyborczy Lekarzy Weterynarii Warmińsko-Mazurskiej Izby Lekarsko-Weterynaryjnej w Olsztynie dokonał wyboru organów Izby na VII kadencję. W skład dwudziesto-osobowej Rady Izby weszła dr hab. Marta Siemieniuch, która została również wybrana delegatem na Zjazd Krajowej Izby Lekarsko-Weterynaryjnej, który odbędzie się w Poznaniu. Science Picnic in Mikołajki
Pupils from the the Social School Complex in Mikołajki celebrated the 1st day of spring together with the scientists from Institute’s Research Station in Popielno.
Our researchers familiarized them with i.a. the world of microorganisms, which could be observed both under the microscope and on own hands, learning that each of us has a unique bacterial microflora. In addition, using anatomy models, students gained knowledge on the structure of the reproductive system and disorders that affect it.
The Picnic was also joined by scientists from the Hydrobiology Station of the Nencki PAS Institute.
