45 PhD students from Poland, including 9 young researchers from the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research PAS in Olsztyn, have inaugurated the first year of the Integrated PhD Studies.
The solemn inauguration ceremony was organized by the Scientific Consortium „Healthy animal – Safe food”, which received the status of the Leading National Science Centre (pol. KNOW) for the years 2015-2019 in the area of agricultural, forestry and veterinary sciences. This prestigious status is awarded via competition to the flagship research units recognized by outstanding achievements, Apart from the Institute PAS in Olsztyn, the Scientific Consortium comprises WULS Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (leader), UWM Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, PIWet National Veterinary Research in Puławy and the Institute of Genetics and Animal Breeding.
The Integrated PhD studies of the Consortium have a nationally unique nature as to the educational programme, which includes acquisition of latest knowledge during courses organized by individual partners, international internships, exchange of experience and translation of know-how to industry.
