Laboratory of Virusology and Molecular Microbiology


Laboratory Profile:

The Laboratory of Virusology and Molecular Microbiology provides methodological and scientific–technical support for research conducted at the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research, Polish Academy of Sciences (IAR&FR PAS), and fosters collaboration with external institutions. The Laboratory integrates research and service activities, offering infrastructure and expertise for the implementation of projects in virology, molecular microbiology, and biosafety. The mission of the unit is to create an environment in which advanced molecular microbiology methods support practical applications in science and industry.

The Laboratory is equipped with the following workstations:

  • Workstation for work with viruses,
  • Workstation for work with cell lines,
  • Workstation for the isolation and cultivation of bacteria in liquid and solid media,
  • Workstation for co-cultures of viruses and/or bacteria with tissues,
  • Workstation for the transformation of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
