Prof. Monika Kaczmarek has been awarded the title of a full professor in agricultural sciences by the President of the Republic Poland. The ceremony of nominations was held in the Presidential Palace on 14 March 2018.

Prof. Monika Kaczmarek has been the head of IARFR’s Molecular Biology Laboratory since 2011. In her research work she investigates the molecular aspects of endocrinology of animal reproduction. The research performed focus on the impact of maternal, paternal, and embryonic factors in the embryo-mother interaction during early pregnancy. She also carries on research started during the Fulbright scholarship in Prof. Leslie Kozak’s laboratory, which, based on a mouse model, will help to explain the origin of disorders in reproduction processes and the functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonads axis in the offspring due to improper diet of a nursing mother.

Prof. Kaczmarek received numerous awards and distinctions from i.a. MS&HE (scholarship for outstanding young researchers, 2010), Pro Scientia et Vita Foundation (2007), Foundation for Polish Science (scholarship START, 2005, 2006).

She was involved in the activities of the Council for the National Science Congress, and now is a member of the Polish-American Fulbright’s Commission.

In 2017 she was one of the laureates of the regional contest „Warmia and Mazury Women of Success”.
