Marshall of the Warmia and Mazury Voivodship, Gustaw Marek Brzezin, honored institutions and persons for outstanding merits in promoting the region in 2017. The XV anniversary „Laur Najlepszym z Najlepszym” [Laurel for the Best of the Best] ceremony was held on April 5 in Olsztyn Philharmonic. Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research PAS has been awarded for its successful initiatives accomplished at a national and international arena, having significantly contributed to an improved image of the Warmia and Mazury region.

„Laur Najlepszym z Najlepszych” contest has been organized since 2004. So far the contest chapter has distinguished over 350 ambassadors of the Warmia and Mazury Voivodship in several categories, including science, sports, culture, education, environment, innovations and development.

It is the third Laurel for the Institute PAS in Olsztyn. In 2008 Prof. Mariusz Piskuła, current Director General, Prof. Dariusz Skarżyński and Prof. Ryszard Amarowicz received the award for outstanding scientific achievements. A year later, the Laurel for distinctive merits in science and education was awarded to Dr. Marta Siemieniuch, Dr. Agnieszka Wacławik and Dr. Mariola Słowińska.
