52 researchers have been appointed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin to the Council of National Congress of Science, which will work on the solutions to be introduced in the new higher education act. Dr. Monika Kaczmarek, head of Institute’s Laboratory of Molecular Biology, is one of the members of this elite group.
The Council will organize monthly conferences focused on the issues of significant importance to the Polish higher education. The meetings will be held in different cities throughout Poland, and will last from October 2016 to July 2017. During the upcoming three conferences (in Rzeszów, Toruń and Wrocław), scientists will discuss the matters of internationalization of science and higher education, development of human and social sciences, as well as the issue of cooperation with the industry.
The committee appointed comprises 52 researchers, including representatives of human, social, natural, medical and technical sciences. Minister Gowin stressed that members of the Council are both experienced prominent scientists and young professors.
Prof. Jarosław Górniak, founder of the Centre of Evaluation and Analyses of Public Policies of the Jagiellonian University, has been designated as the chairman of the Council.
