Jerzy Radecki plenary lecture at the International Conference on Research Initiatives in Chemistry for Sustainable Development
Professor Jerzy Radecki has been invited to deliver a plenary lecture at the International Conference on Research Initiatives in Chemistry for Sustainable Development (RICS-2019) being held at The Gandhigram Rural Institute, Gandhigram,Tamil Nadu, India.
Gandhigram was designed by choice, by the freedom fighters and dedicated disciples of Gandhiji, Dr. G. Ramachandran and Dr. T. S. Soundram in the year 1947. Gandhigram Rural Institute was one of the fourteen Rural Institutes functioned under one umbrella of National Council for Rural Higher Education.

Workshop Surface Modification for Chemical and Biochemical Sensing
M.Sc. Piotr Gołębiewski from Department of Biosensors participated in Workshop „Surface Modification for Chemical and Biochemical Sensing”, which was held on November 3-7, 2017 in Żelechów. During this conference he presented a poster titled „Ion Channel Mimetic Sensor Incorporating Cyclopeptide Designed for Anion Recognition in Aqueous Solutions”. Participation in the conference was funded by Grant: National Science Centre, Poland, No 2016/21/B/ST4/03834.

MSc Shalini Menon and Mr Unni Sivasankaran from Department of Applied Chemistry, Cochin University of Sciences and Technology of India visited the Department of Biosensors and Laboratory of Bioelectroanalysis of Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn since October 1st till October 30th, 2017. European Researchers’ Night – FUSION NIGHT 2017
On Friday, September 29th, 2017 The European Researchers’ Night – FUSION NIGHT took place. Whole event was organized by the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of Polish Academy of Sciences and Joseph Rusiecki High School, Olsztyn.
During this event PhD Edyta Mikuła, MSc Piotr Gołębiewski and PhD Dawid Kałuża have performed a presentation “Intelligent biosensors” for children. They have presented method of development highly selective sensors for detection of various analytes using gold electrodes.
The first meeting concerning the realization of the National Science Centre Project
The first meeting concerning the realization of the National Science Centre Project titled „Redox active monolayers for exploring of anion recognitions processes in aqueous phase” (No 2016/21/B/ST4/03834) was held in Łańsk (Olsztyn), in September 12 –14, 2017 r. The following persons have attended: Prof. Stefan Kubik, PhD Disha Mungalpara and M.Sc. Lígia Mesquita from the Technische Univeritäte Kaiserslautern (Germany, Prof. Wim Dehaen, M.Sc. Tomas Opsomer, M.Sc. Tomas Horsten and M.Sc. Pieterjan Winant from Department of Chemistry University of Leuven (Belgium), Prof. dr hab. Jerzy Radecki and M.Sc. Piotr Gołębiewski from Biosensors Department of Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research PAS in Olsztyn (Poland).
During this meeting all members gave oral presentation concerning realization of the project No 2016/21/B/ST4/03834.
Next, processes of anion recognitions in aqueous media and the mechanism generation of electrochemical signals have been discussed.
Based on this discussion, the structures of new anion receptors responsible for anion recognition in aqueous media were planned.
XVI Conference Electroanalysis in Theory and Practice
Dr Balwinder Kaur and M.Sc. Piotr Gołębiewski from Department of Biosensors participated in „XVI Conference Electroanalysis in Theory and Practice”, which was held on June 1-2, 2017 in Kraków. During this conference they gave two oral presentations: „Electrochemical anions recognition using gold electrodes modified with dipodal anion receptor attached to dipyrromethene-Cu(II) or Co(II) complex” by dr B. Kaur and „Use of cyclopeptide as a receptor in electrochemical sensor for detection of anions in aqueous solutions” by M.Sc. P. Gołębiewski.
