Director of Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of Polish Academy of Science in Olsztyn announces an open call for the position:

  • an assistant professor at the Department of Reproductive Immunology and Pathology (number of vacancies: 1)

Specific research activities in which the candidate will take part:

  1. Investigation of molecular mechanisms of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) latency establishment in CD34+ cells and neuronal progenitor cells with focus on IE1x4;
  2. Comparison of the HCMV latent transcriptional profile in CD34+ hematopoietic progenitor cells and neuronal progenitor cells;
  3. Establishment of a protocol for reproducible differentiation of iPSC (induced pluripotent stem cells) into primitive pre-rosette neuronal stem cells and further into neurons;
  4. Identification of the differentiation stage of neuronal lineage cells, at which HCMV is able to infect them, replicate and establish latency;
  5. Investigation of the influence of the type of virus producing cell on efficiency of infection of different target cells.
