Building bacteria in a micro-zoo, discovering magical antioxidants in juice and following the traces of wild animals – these edutaining activities were offered by Institute’s researchers to the guests of a science picnic organised in Powsin.

The Picnic commemorated the 150th anniversary of the birth of Polish noblist Marie Skłodowska-Curie. Polish Academy of Sciences Botanic Garden in Powsin hosts the Memorial Alley of 100th anniversary of Radium and Polon Discovery, initiated in 1998. At this time Nobel laureates in physics, chemistry and medicine planted the first beeches, which have now grown into magnificent trees.

Apart from performing mind-exciting science events, Institute’s researchers also disseminated information about the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action – European Researchers’ Night – to be organized at Institute’s premises in Olsztyn on September 29, 2017.
