Over 130 experiments, science shows, hands-on workshops and other edutaining activities wait for Warmia and Mazury residents. Olsztyn is one of the two national hosts of the most important popularization event in Europe – European Researchers’ Night! Don’t forget to visit us on September 30th.

Main venue of the events is located at Bydgoska Str. in the headquarters of the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research PAS and Olsztyn School of Higher Education, where our guests will be able to i.a. take part in the workshops on automatic control engineering, experiment in a Soap Laboratory, discover tasty bacteria, visit phyto-zoo, build their own rocket, design DNA, and even taste edible snails and explore their role in regenerative medicine. Researchers’’ Night will also serve as an occasion to take care of our health. Participants will take a test on intolerance to gluten, get examined for otolaryngology disorders and check the flexibility of joints in the center of physiotherapy. They will also take an insight into the latest wonders of technology – 5D cinema, 3D scanners, mobile laboratory for biodiversity conservation, and many other.

Guest of the Night will also have a chance to take part in the meetings with Łukasz Jakóbiak – journalist and creator of an Internet talk-show 20m2, Konrad Gaca – founder of the “Fatkillers” association, Joanna Jędrzejczyk – UFC champ, and Tomasz Jastrun – renowned writer. What’s more, they will have a unique opportunity to attend Science Roast, which will entertain not only science enthusiasts but also science reluctants.

Plenty of attractions will await the guests also at the University of Warmia and Mazury, inviting everyone to the student campus in Kortowo. What can we expect? Linguistic seminars, experiments with computer-controlled sensors, shows of a night sky, observations of the world in a  micro scale,  workshops of “invisible hand”, a meeting with a Polish actress – Edyta Jungowska, theatre performance ”Teacher” by Wojciech Pszoniak, and many other exciting science celebration events.

In the City Centre we will find various exhibitions, allowing us to take a look at the “backstage” of researchers’ work. In the Gallery of the Marshall’s Office we can now admire stained-glass exhibition titled “Glass tissues”, while in the Library of the Old City Hall – pictures seen by a scientists under the microscope.
